• Oil and Gas Education Summit 2013

    On 22/04/2013 Professor Wole Soboyejo and Professor Godwin Chukwu of AUST will be participating in the Oil and Gas Education Summit 2013 at the International Conference Center in Abuja.

    AUST participated in the 2012-2013 Google Student Ambassador Programme (GSAP) in Sub-Saharan Africa. Two of AUST students, Ufouma Bright Ighoroje (PhD Computer Science) and Kiemute Oyibo (MSc Computer Science), were some of the 50 or so succesful applicants drawn from different institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa. All successful applicants participated in the 4-day Google Students Ambassador Summit in Nairobi, Kenya in June 2012.

    Between May 2012 and June 2012 a group of AUST-SHESTCO researchers visited Princeton University. The visit to Princeton University by the AUST-SHESTCO researchers was possible because of the AUST-SHESTCO-Princeton University collaboration sponsored by the World Bank-STEP B project in Nigeria.

  • AUST signs MOU with the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA)

    The African Univer-sity of Science and Technology signed an MOU with the Directorate of Technical Coop-eration in Africa (DTCA) on the 16th day of May 2012. DTCA was established in rec-ognition of the fact that Techni-cal cooperation is a vital instru-ment for achieving regional economic integration in a rap-idly globalizing world.

  • AUST Appoints a new vice president finance and administration

    Mr. Bonaventure Mbida-Essama has been announced as the new Vice Presi-dent, finance and administration of AUST. He succeeds Dr. Boubou Cisse, who con-cluded his tenure on the 22nd June 2012.
  • AUST-RISE Meeting

    A joint meeting of the AUST and the Regional Initiative in Science and Education (RISE) was held at AUST on the 8th of August, 2012. RISE was represented by Professor Phillip Griffiths (RISE Chair) and Mrs. Arlen Hastings (RISE Executive Director) as well as a RISE-supported team from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. J. O. Borode, Dr. J. A. Omotoyinbo, Dr. K. K. Alanemele and some RISE-supported FUTA graduate students.
